The celebrations for Durga Puja have begun in earnest, and Bollywood celebs are doing all in their power to take part. Celebrities rush to the Puja pandals to participate in the celebrations, and you can see the fervor and enthusiasm in their eyes. Rani Mukerji was recently seen doing the Dhununchi dance alongside her cousin Tanishaa Mukerji at a Durga Puja pandal in Mumbai.

In a video, Rani could be seen doing the traditional prayer dance while wearing a subdued gold saree and holding a Dhununchi. Tanishaa, Kajol’s younger sister and Rani’s cousin, was also shown dancing behind her while wearing a pink lehenga choli. Her open hair nicely framed her face, and she accessorized simply to complete the appearance. Kajol, meanwhile, didn’t seem to be at the celebrations.

Prior to this, the actress was seen on Saturday entering a pandal wearing a golden sari as she recorded a video of the majestic Goddess Durga idol. Rani had a gorgeous updo for her presentation and a dramatic orange and maroon jewelry to complete her ensemble.

Bollywood diva Rani is not the only one gripped by the Pujo frenzy. A number of recordings of Kajol and Sushmita Sen doing pujas from the Durga Pujo pandals have also made their way online. Earlier, a video of Sushmita Sen and her older daughter Renee doing the Dhununchi dance became popular on social media.

Rani Mukerji most recently appeared in Mrs. Chatterjee vs. Norway, a legal drama film directed by Ashima Chibber. The movie, in which Neena Gupta, Jim Sarbh, and Anirban Bhattacharya also appear, is based on the actual story of an Indian couple whose children were forcibly removed from them by Norwegian authorities in 2011. Both crowds and reviews praised the movie.
